In short, this feels like Ferion, however it beyond what Ferion ever was.
Decades passed since Ferion was originally created. In 2016 the original Ferion was taken offline.
As you can imagine, in that time a lot of improvements in browser technology have been made possible. The new Ferion is making good use of them.
The new map is fully 3d rendered, and is the main way of controlling your ships. No more entering coordinates. Its all point and click now.
The new Ferion works as an actual game. So a client runs in your browser that updates as things are happening. No need to endlessly refresh the page. Everything automatically updates as the world progresses.
There are difference in gameplay and some things stay the same.
You no longer need shipyards to build ships, they are build and queued like buildings. Which means, you are either constructing ships or buildings, but no longer both at the same time.
The techtree has been designed from scratch.
The authority system now controls how fast you can settle/conquer planets.
The map now has nebulae you can discover that have special abilities.
